We're eating lots of watermelon right now; melons that were grown in my yard here in Joshua Tree. The melons I'm talking about are Desert King, a drought-tolerant yellow-fleshed heirloom variety that does well here in the Mojave.
The photo I've included is of a 28 and 3/4 pound fruit that I harvested yesterday and we ate today. You can't buy that flavor in any store at any price anywhere in this country.
I'm offering the seeds from these organically-grown melons at $5.00 for 25 seeds. The .parent plants are acclimated to this area, so the offspring should do very well here.
As this is an heirloom variety and the only melon I've grown this year, the seeds will produce exactly the same type of crisp, sweet, juicy, delicious melons that I'm enjoying this summer.
